From 2019 onwards, the NTA has been required to undertake the Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (now known as Ministry of Education), Government of India.

There are 2  papers in the (JEE Main). The 1st paper is used to check the eligibility for admission to UG Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech) at NITs, IIITs, other CFTIs, and Institutions/Universities funded by participating State Governments, as well as an eligibility test for JEE (Advanced), which is used to determine admission to IITs.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2022:

Interested candidates who want to apply for JEE Main 2022 make sure that they meet the JEE Main eligibility requirements. The following are the qualifying requirements for JEE Main 2022:

  • To be eligible for JEE Main 2022, candidates must have completed the 12th examination or its equivalent with at least 5 courses, in Physics, Language, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and any of Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry, Technical Vocational Subjects.
  • Admission to IITs, NITs, and CFTIs would be solely based on All India Rank, with the requirement that the candidate score at least 75 percent & 65 percent in the case of SC/ST in the 12th examination or be in the top 20 percentile in the respective 12th boards.
  • Candidates who’ve already completed or are currently enrolled in NIOS 12th should pick the State of Eligible based on the state in which the education centre is located.
  • Applicants born on or after October 1, 1997 will be able to take the JEE Main 2022 exam and applicants  from the SC/ST and PWD categories, would be given a 5-year age relaxation.
Only the date of birth on the 10th or secondary education board certificate will be taken into account.

Exam Update for JEE Main 2022 – The NTA will hold 4 sessions of the JEE Main 2022 test in February, March, April, and May. The registration procedure for JEE Main 2022 will begin in November on the NTA JEE Main website – jeemain.nta.nic.in 2022.

Marking criteria MCQs: For each correct answer, 4 marks will be granted, with 1 point deducted (-) for each incorrect response.

Answers to questions with numerical values are as follows: There will be no (- ve)  marking and candidates will receive 4 marks for each right answer.

Is JEE Mains Mcq or written?

In the revised pattern, the total questionnaire covered in the JEE mains examination has been lowered from 90 to 75. 20 of the 25 questions in each section will be multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with the other five being numerical value questions.

In the main exam of the JEE, there are no theoretical questions.

Is negative marking in JEE?
