What is IPU CET 2021?

IPU CET is an abbreviation for Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test, which the university conducts for taking student admissions. Usually, the test is conducted for engineering or similar graduation course candidates who have previously cleared their JEE Main Paper 1.

IPU CET 2021 Latest Updates

Here are some latest updates announced by Indraprastha University regarding their IPU CET 2021 exam:

  • The results for BA (JMC) published on the official website on October 5 2021 have been taken down due to technical glitches. The notice informs that the results will be uploaded again shortly.
  • The schedule for B.Arch online counseling 2021 through only NATA 2021 has been updated on the university website for the academic session 2021-22. All NATA 2021 qualified candidates whose name appears on the Rank/Merit list can appear for online counseling round 1 for which results will be declared on October 18 2021.
  • The online counseling round 2 for JEE Mains Paper-1 of 2021 qualified B Tech candidates is being held between 14 to October 18 2021. Post this; a document verification session will be held from 15 to October 22, 2021. Refer to the section ‘Upcoming Events’ in this article for further details.
  • For candidates of BA LLB, LLM, and MBA, the online portal for withdrawal of admission remains open till October 15 2021, up to 11:50 pm. You must note that requests sent through post/ email/ fax/ varsity premises submission shall be entertained.
  • B Tech Biotechnology program exam (earlier scheduled for September 12) has been postponed indefinitely until further notice.

IPU CET 2021 Latest Updates – Eligibility Criteria for BTech

Mentioned below are the admission criteria as per IPU CET 2021 latest updates for different courses offered by Indraprastha University. This section is particularly useful for candidates of IPU academic session 2022-23.

It must be noted that all special candidates who are blind, deaf, and dumb are not eligible for admissions through IPU CET 2021, including colour-blind individuals.

BTech Engineering

  • Cleared Class 12 examination from a recognized board with at least 55% marks in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths). Candidates must also have cleared their English exam as a core/ elective/ functional subject.
  • Candidates must have appeared in JEE Main Paper-1, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), wherein their name must be displayed on the Rank/Merit list.

BTech Biotechnology

  • Cleared Class 12 examination with at least 50% marks in PCM and Biology or Biotechnology.
  • Candidates must have appeared in the IPU CET exam, wherein their name must be displayed on the Rank/Merit list.

BTech Lateral Entry (Diploma)

  • Candidates must have cleared their 3-year course with at least 60% marks.
  • Candidates must have appeared in the IPU CET exam, wherein their name must be displayed on the Rank/Merit list.

BTech Lateral Entry (BSc)

  • Candidates must have cleared their BSc examination with Mathematics with at least 60% marks from a UGC-recognized university.
  • Candidates must have appeared in the IPU CET exam, wherein their name must be displayed on the Rank/Merit list.

 1) Is IPU CET 2021 canceled?

Ans: No. It was tentatively canceled in September as the dates of IPU CET 2021 were colliding with NEET 2021. The exam for various courses was held, results declared, and is currently undergoing counseling sessions.

2) What are some IPU CET 2021 latest updates on exam patterns?

Ans: There are no IPU CET 2021 latest updates for changes in exam patterns. A similar pattern from earlier years is followed wherein 150 objective-type questions are included. The students must submit their papers after 3 hours. While 4 marks are awarded for each correct answer, 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. No marks are deducted for unanswered questions. English remains the exam medium, which is conducted on OMR sheets in a pen-paper mode.
