AP Exam Results!

AP exam results are available in July. You’ll be able to access it online with your College Board account username & password. Open your AP scores online. Sign in by using your College Board account. Given below are some instructions on how to access AP Results.

Make sure that you can sign into your College Board account.

If you’ve forgotten your username, click on ‘Forgot Username?’ to have it sent to the email address used to set up your account. If you remember your username but not your password, go to ‘Forgot Password?’.

Make sure that the college board has your current email address.

In case you’ve changed your email address, update the new one on your account.

Don’t make a new account if you already have one.

Duplicate or multiple accounts can cause delays in getting your AP results. Sign in with the same account that you used to register and enroll in the AP class sections.

1. Your overall score is calculated from your section scores.

For most AP Exams, your score is a weighted combination of your scores on the 2 sections,  free-response & multiple-choice. Some of the AP courses have assessments that include other scored components.

2. AP Exams are scored on a band of 5-point scale.

The final score for each AP Exam is provided on a 5-point scale that offers a recommendation or remarks about how qualified you are to receive college credit and placement. However, each college has the autonomy to decide about what scores it will grant credit or placement for.

3. AP score setting is based on good research.

The AP Program conducts studies in all the AP subjects to correlate the performance of AP students with that of college students in comparable college courses. These studies help give the ‘cut points’ that determine how AP students’ composite scores are turned into an AP score of between 1 to 5.

Do I have to create a College Board account each time I want to view or send my AP scores?

No. Once you’ve made a College Board account, you’ll be able to use your account to view or send your AP scores as long as you hold the account. If you’ve written other College Board exam such as the SAT, you might already have a College Board account. Don’t create more than one as it could delay your scores. Please note that Incase you change your email , make sure you update your account.

How do I save a copy of my AP score report?

You can download a copy of your score report is available in AP Scores for Students in the PDF format. This is the unofficial copy of your result intended for your own record. It can’t be used to send to colleges or universities for getting credit or placement. To send an official score report to a college or university you can also log in to AP Scores for Students to order one.

Is a 4 A good AP score?

A 4 and a 5 is the score that will most likely earn you college AP credit. Good scores in AP courses always look great on your transcript!

What is a passing AP score?

A score that’s 3 & higher is considered a passing score, though some colleges only accept score of 4 and 5. (Go through AP’s college database for specific policies at each university.) Getting a full 5 is very desirable because, for most exams, it ranks you in the top 10-20% of candidates.
