Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What is an AP ID?

You’re given an eight-digit alphanumeric number when you initially enroll in a class section in My AP, which acts as your official AP identify for test administration. This code, known as your AP ID, is used to link you to your grades. The AP ID you obtain is non-transferable.

Q. When will I be able to register for AP 2022?

Instead of being held in March, AP exam registration will now take place on November 15th. AP examinations will continue to be held in May of each school year. Because of the revised registration deadline, students must commit to taking AP tests earlier in the school year than previously.

Q. In 2022, how much will the AP exam cost?

For the AP Exams in 2022, the base exam cost will increase by $1. At schools in the United States, U.S. territories, Canada, and all DoDEA institutions, the base test price is $96 per exam.

Q. Will AP exams be available online in 2022?

The Advanced Placement (AP) Exams in 2022 will revert to their original paper and pencil format, which was relocated towards online owing to COVID-19 for the previous two test cycles.

Q.How often are AP examinations given?

The exams are only given once a year, in May. Unless you request that one or more scores be withheld or canceled, your score report will include your results for all AP Exams you have taken.

Q.What is the validity of my AP score?

Whether you took the AP exam in Grade 9, 10, 11, or 12, your score will be valid until you attend college. If your most recent AP Exam was more than 4 years ago, your results were saved.

Q.Why aren’t some AP Exams available at my testing center?

Certain AP Tests (such as AP Computer Science Principles, AP Seminar, and AP Research) are not offered in India since students must enroll in the course at their school and will most likely take the tests there.

Some test centers may be unable to administer extra tests due to a shortage of resources or equipment, such as computers or recording devices for language exams and AP Music Theory.

Q. How do I decide which AP Exams to take?

You can choose your decision depending on your hobbies, college major, or professional goals. If you want to major in chemical engineering, for example, you might want to take AP Chemistry and AP Calculus.

Q. Are AP scores accepted by institutions outside the United States?

Yes, nearly 450-500 universities in over 75 countries, including the UK., Canada, and Australia, accept AP credits. Many colleges accept AP results for admissions, placement, and scholarship consideration.

Q. As a self-study student, are I able to view the free AP Daily videos?

Yes! AP Daily videos are short, searchable films developed by AP teachers from all across the country that address the subject and skills you’re learning in class or on your own. You may watch them on AP Classroom from any device with an internet connection at any time.

Q. When can I register for the AP Exam in 2022?

In September 2021, registration for the 2022 AP Exams will be released.

Q. Is it possible for me to study both Calculus AB and Calculus BC in the same school year?

In the same school year, you cannot take both the Calculus AB and Calculus BC examinations. You must take just one AP Calculus Exam, even if you are taking both AP Calculus courses.

Q. Is it possible to postpone an AP Exam to the next year?

No. If you are unable to take a test planned for this year, you must either cancel or skip the exam. You’ll have to re-apply for the exam the following year. Before you register, make sure you understand your test center’s cancellation and refund procedures.

Q. Is it possible to register for AP Exams without using my passport?

If you don’t have a valid passport, you may be eligible to register and take AP Exams using another legitimate government-issued ID, such as an Aadhaar card.

If you don’t have a valid government-issued ID, each approved test center will decide whether you may register using another form of identification like, “school-issued picture ID”, which you are also supposed to bring with you on exam day.

Q. How do I obtain my AP Exam results?

Early in July, the results will be available. Sign in using your College Board account, which is the same one you used for the SAT. A video and other materials are also available on the same page to assist you in obtaining your results.
