ACT Score Band or Range

The average ACT score determines the performance of the candidates who took the exam on the same date. The max score on ACT band is 36. For the last ACT, the average ACT score is 20.6 which changes with every next exam. Each section of the ACT exam is also scored out of 36. The ACT composite score is an average of all four sections – Science, Mathematics, English, and Reading.

The ACT score ranges from 1 – 36 and it follows the percentile scoring method. Percentile scoring states the performance after comparing it with all the test-takers who took the exam on that day. For instance, if you score a 75 percentile on your ACT, then it implies that you have scored better than 75% of the all test takers of that day.

ACT Section-Wise And Composite cutoff

Each section of the ACT i.e., English, Math, Reading, and Science is scored on a scale of 1 to 36 points. To find the composite average score, the score of all individual sections are considered, added and then the average is taken out.
